Advanced Information Systems
Brief description and learning objectives:
The scientific field of this specialization covers a wide range of innovative approaches and technologies that respond to the modern challenges and needs of all individual sectors of the socio-economic ecosystem. Considering that every sector (such as transport, health, logistics, smart cities and retail) integrates and uses as a key “tool” one or more information systems, the aim of this specialization is to offer all the necessary knowledge and skills so that graduates can analyze, design, implement and manage information systems.
The ever-enriching digital ecosystem is geared toward the development of modern mobile applications, cloud computing infrastructures, and ever more devices/sensors that enable the delivery of innovative products and applications. Thus, this specialization covers all phases of the development process of advanced information systems, offering holistic knowledge from analysis and design to implementation and governance.
The purpose of the specialization is the promotion of scientific knowledge and research that will make the graduates capable of directly staffing agencies that either use, or dispose of to third parties, or build information systems.

Basic Elements of the Certification/Academic Specialization Program
The students of the 3rd semester of Acad. year 2021-22 of the PMS “Information Systems & Services”, the students of the PMS “Digital Systems & Services” who are in the process of preparing their Master’s Thesis (MTE) regardless of the course of study or graduates of the PMS “Digital Systems & Services” have the opportunity to participate in a Seminar Program that will be conducted in Greek jointly with the SAS company and will lead to the receipt of a Certificate/Academic Specialization in the subject entitled: “Data Management and Data Analytics using SAS”.
The Certification Program will be a total of 39 hours. The lectures and workshops of the Program will take place at the premises of the University of Piraeus and will cover the following thematic sections:

The agreement with SAS is under the approval and auspices of the University of Piraeus.
