EY HELLAS has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Postgraduate Program (PPS) “Information Systems & Services” of the Department of Digital Systems of the University of Piraeus, with the main objectives of scientific and research cooperation, as well as the support of postgraduate students through joint activities.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of EY HELLAS by the CEO of the company, Mr. Giorgos Papadimitriou, and on the side of the PPS “Information Systems & Services”, its Director and Professor of the Department of Digital Systems at the University of Piraeus, Mr. Michalis Filippakis.

In the framework of the memorandum, among other things, the implementation of actions and actions for the branches of the scientific fields of interest of the PPS, the development of cooperation actions, the advisory support from EY for the correct implementation of business models, the development and evolution of the themes, after consultation, regarding the needs that may arise, and the possibility of carrying out an internship / preparation of the postgraduate diploma thesis of the postgraduate students of the PPS in EY HELLAS.

Both EY and the PPS “Information Systems & Services” side emphasize the importance of signing this memorandum for the knowledge, training, and development of postgraduate students, both at a theoretical and practical level, bridging, thus, the skills gap between education and the labor market.

On the occasion of the signing of the memorandum of cooperation, the Managing Director of EY HELLAS, Mr. Giorgos Papadimitriou, said: “The closer connection and cooperation of the Greek educational and research institutions with the business community can make a decisive contribution to addressing the shortage of critical skills that are recorded in the labor market, but also in the promotion of research and development in Greece. In this context, we are today expanding our collaboration with the University of Piraeus, which started a year ago. The PPS “Information Systems & Services” of the Department of Digital Systems of the University of Piraeus has developed significant expertise in areas that are also of interest to EY, such as digital technology and innovation. I am sure that our cooperation will create significant benefits for both sides, but, above all, for the students of the University, who will be the professionals of the future”.

The Director of the PPS and Professor of the Department of Digital Systems of the University of Piraeus, Mr. Michalis Filippakis, noted: “The global competition in investments is increasing and with the development of artificial intelligence and machine learning it is essential that our students have the opportunity to receive knowledge from us and become competitive so that they can meet the ever-changing demands of the labor market.
